Today, Poet Louise Glück was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature; it's nice to see a poet rewarded, and doubly nice to see a woman poet.

The following websites will provide you with invaluable resources to deepen your knowledge of poetry, but remember that nothing beats sitting down with a collection of poems, a pencil and a notepad and start reading them aloud, to catch what I mean in class by the « beat » of a given poem.

 This year's poet, Marianne Moore, is very much a poet's poet, to borrow a phrase often used when discussing her protégée, Elizabeth Bishop.

There is, as yet, no real annotated editions of her poems. The web, however is a real treasure trove, so long as you don't get lost... There are also some useful reference books at UTJJ, but let me first find the time to go and check which ones are useful to you.
