Louise Glück

Today, Poet Louise Glück was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature; it's nice to see a poet rewarded, and doubly nice to see a woman poet.

You will find below a series of links to a scholarly article by Professor Christine Savinel, an interview with Louise Glück & a biographical profile of her, as well as a recording of the poem 'Afterword' read by her.

‘O for ten years, that I may overwhelm

The following websites will provide you with invaluable resources to deepen your knowledge of poetry, but remember that nothing beats sitting down with a collection of poems, a pencil and a notepad and start reading them aloud, to catch what I mean in class by the « beat » of a given poem.

And this year’s author can be glimpsed here.
