Starring Mark Rylance, a great Shakespearean actor, often seen on the Globe’s stage, and more recently in the latest Spielberg film, it tells the story of Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII’s ‘éminence grise’…
It promises to be excellent TV, which you can watch in English, if I can decipher Arte’s acronyms correctly.
But it should not be an excuse not to read the original novels by Hilary Mantel, Wolf Hall & Bring Up the Bodies.
They are written in the present tense, which prompted this review article from the Guardian on a new trend.
